The 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is for students who know from the start that they want to go all the way. Rather than completing the 200-hour, returning home, and coming back for the 300-hour — you stay. Roughly eight weeks of unbroken immersion. No re-entry shock in between. No losing momentum.

The combined path costs $400 less than taking both programs separately, and the pedagogical advantage is significant. By the time 200-hour-only students are graduating, you are just hitting your stride. The advanced philosophy, the deeper pranayama, the filmed teaching practicums — they all land differently when they're built on a foundation that's still fresh.

You will leave Rishikesh as a Yoga Alliance RYT-500 — the highest standard of yoga teacher certification, held by fewer than 15% of all registered yoga teachers worldwide. More importantly, you will leave with fifty-four days of river-air, Himalayan morning light, and the quiet confidence that comes from having done the full work.

AFTER THE TRAINING

What comes after your 500-hour

The pathway is the same one Yoga Alliance recognises worldwide: complete your 200-hour and register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance — a credential recognised in over 100 countries. When you are ready, continue to the 300-hour and register as an RYT-500, the highest individual teaching credential. Registration with Yoga Alliance is a separate ongoing cost (around $50 to register, then roughly $65–$75 a year to renew) — worth knowing as you plan.

These are paths, not promises. Where the certification takes you depends on the work you put in after you leave Rishikesh.

1,200+

certified teachers worldwide have trained in the Deep Yoga lineage. You join a real, growing community of graduates.

Teach studio & community classes

Register as an RYT and you can teach group classes at studios, gyms, community centres, or independently — the most common first step graduates take.

Lead retreats & workshops

Many graduates go on to host their own retreats and themed workshops, building a teaching practice around a niche they care about.

Teach online

A recognised certification makes it credible to build an online class library, membership, or one-to-one practice that reaches students anywhere.

Continue to advanced training

Progress to the 300-hour for RYT-500 — the highest individual Yoga Alliance credential and the baseline for leading teacher trainings and yoga-therapy pathways.

WHY DEEP YOGA

Six things every student notices in week one

A real teacher, named

Sudhanshu Badoni leads every cohort personally — not a rotation of strangers. His teaching is on YouTube (4,000+ subscribers); you can verify his pedagogy before you arrive.

Twenty to thirty in a cohort

Small enough that the faculty knows your alignment tendencies and your name by day three. Large enough to form the sangha you keep for years.

Lineage you can name

Curriculum traces explicitly to Adi Shankaracharya, Vivekananda, Sivananda, Satyananda, and Swami Rama — see /gurus for the full lineage.

Sattvic vegetarian kitchen

Three meals a day prepared in the shala kitchen from seasonal local produce. Vegan, gluten-free, and allergy accommodations on request.

On the western bank of the Ganges

The shala sits in Tapovan, Rishikesh — quiet enough for sunrise pranayama, walking distance to Ram Jhula bridge, the Ganga aarti, and the morning chai stalls.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 500-hour better than doing the 200hr and 300hr separately?

It depends on your circumstances. The 500-hour offers unbroken immersion — no gap between programs means no momentum loss. It's also $400 cheaper than the two programs separately. The trade-off is that you need to commit roughly eight weeks away from home and work.

Can I join the 500-hour as a complete beginner?

You need at least six months of regular yoga practice, but you do not need any prior certification. The program is designed as a complete journey from practitioner to RYT-500.

What if I want to leave after the 200-hour portion?

If circumstances require it, we can certify you for the 200-hour portion at the four-week mark. You would then have a credit toward a future 300-hour completion.

How rare is RYT-500 certification?

Fewer than 15% of all Yoga Alliance registered teachers hold the RYT-500. It is the highest tier of certification and opens doors to advanced teaching positions, yoga therapy programs, and leadership roles at studios and retreats worldwide.

Is Rishikesh safe for solo female travellers?

Yes. Rishikesh is one of the safest destinations in India for solo travellers, and many of our students are women travelling alone. Our campus is residential and staffed, Tapovan is a quiet temple neighbourhood, and over an eight-week stay the cohort becomes a close support network.

Which visa do I need for a 54-day stay?

A standard Tourist Visa covers the full 54-day program for most nationalities — check your country's exact rules with our visa eligibility checker at /tools/visa-eligibility-checker, and confirm your visa validity comfortably exceeds your travel dates. Arrive one day before the start; airport pickup from Dehradun (DED) is included on request.

What is your refund policy?

The deposit is non-refundable. More than 60 days before the start date, the balance is refundable minus a small admin fee (₹5,000–10,000). Between 30 and 60 days, 50% of the total fee is refundable. Less than 30 days before, or a no-show, is non-refundable. If circumstances require it, we can certify you for the 200-hour portion at the four-week mark with a credit toward a future 300-hour completion.
